Light Up Night

The Lights are up and its not December yet, but hey! that's America for you! It's never too early to get into the holiday spirit, and the Steel city makes that clear every year by hosting the Comcast Light Up Night. Light Up Night is celebrated in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is usually held in November, on the Friday before Thanksgiving Day.

Light Up Night 2017

During Light Up Night, downtown Pittsburgh is decorated with beautiful lights and Christmas trees, and Market Square is transformed into a holiday-themed village. The lighting of the Christmas tree in the ice skating rink in PPG Place is an annual tradition, and when the lights are turned on, the ice skating rink officially opens to the public for the season. With free live bands, free music, street performances, food trucks, and fireworks on display, Light Up Night is definitely a night you will want to spend with family and friends.
